190215-N-RD550-0424 NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (Feb. 15, 2019) - Culinary Specialist 2nd Class Amber Elbert, a repair parts petty officer for the supply department aboard the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS George Washington (CVN 73), lifts a weighted ball during command physical training at Huntington Hall. George Washington is undergoing refueling complex overhaul (RCOH) at Newport News Shipyard. RCOH is a nearly four-year project performed only once during a carrier’s 50-year service life that includes refueling of the ship’s two nuclear reactors, as well as significant repair, upgrades and modernization.
