Alaskan Army National Guard Cpl. James Karels, Kandahar Provincial Reconstruction Team, fires a 60 mm mortar during a during a training exercise on Camp Atterbury, Ind., Jan. 6, 2012. Kandahar PRT is a joint team of U.S. Air Force, Army and Navy service members that will deploy to Afghanistan to assist in the effort to rebuild and stabilize the local government and infrastructure.
