JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Jan. 31, 2019) – Hospitalman Matthew Ray prepares for an eye exam at Naval Hospital Jacksonville’s Ophthalmology Clinic. Ray, a native of Springfield, Oregon, says “I enjoy conversing and interacting with each and every one of my patients. The best thing I can do is make their time here at the hospital bright.” Ray is the command’s newest DAISY Award winner, recognizing excellence in clinical expertise and extraordinary compassionate care. A patient nominated Ray, saying “He has an amazing, optimistic attitude and smile that never leaves his face.
