U.S. Army Reserve Spc. Cody Densley, a HMMWV gunner with the 419th Transportation Company based in Salt Lake City, engages simulated targets with a pneumatic operated M240B machine gun in the Warrior Skills Trainer simulator during Operation Cold Steel III at Fort Hunter Liggett, Calif., on February 7, 2019. Virtual simulators like the WST help Soldiers gain proficiency with weapon systems prior to shooting live ammo. Operation Cold Steel III trains and qualifies Army Reserve Soldiers on M2 .50 caliber machine guns, M19 40 mm automatic grenade launchers and M240 7.62 mm machine guns weapons systems in ground and mounted military vehicles, in order to provide lethal and combat ready units ready to deploy anywhere in the world
