A formal military commissioning ceremony is taking place for the USS Michael Monsoor (DDG-1001), as indicated by the ship's seal on the podium. A U.S. Army officer in dress uniform is speaking at the podium while attendees, including Navy officers in dress blues, civilians, and other dignitaries, bow their heads in what appears to be a prayer or invocation. The event is held under a white tent with a patriotic red, white, and blue backdrop.

SAN DIEGO (Jan. 26, 2019) Army Chaplain Paul Halladay, delivers the invocation during the commissioning ceremony of USS Michael Monsoor (DDG 1001). DDG 1001 is the second Zumwalt-class destroyer ship to enter the fleet. It is the first Navy combat ship named for fallen Master-at-Arms 2nd Class (SEAL) Michael Monsoor, who was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor for his heroic actions while serving in Ramadi, Iraq, in 2006.
