Army Sgt. Danny Sweeney speaks at the funeral of retired Staff Sgt. Deriek Crouse saying, “Deriek earned the right to lead troops as a non-commissioned officer and always worked to be the best soldier that he could be. You could tell that he was one of the best that the Army could offer.” Crouse, a Virginia Tech police officer, was killed in the line of duty Dec. 8.
