Major General Kurt Sonntag, Commander, U.S. Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School, (USAJFKSWCS) presents the U.S. Army Soldier’s Medal to Sgt. 1st Class Erik Kingsley during a ceremony at Kennedy Hall, on the SWCS campus, Dec. 13, 2018. Sergeant 1st Class Kingsley was awarded the medal for rescuing an unconscious man from a vehicle engulfed in flames; the Soldier’s Medal is awarded to any member of the Armed Forces who distinguishes themselves by heroism not involving actual conflict with an enemy.
