America’s First Corps Commanding General, Lt. Gen. Gary Volesky, and the Japan Northern Army Commanding General, Lt. Gen. Masato Taura, share the battle cry “onward together!” at the opening ceremony of Yama Sakura 75 at Camp Higashi-Chitose, Japan, Dec 09, 2018. The ceremony brought the forces together to motivate the participants and mark the start of the exercise. Yama Sakura is an annual, bilateral post command exercise with the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force to strengthen the alliance between America and Japan through sharing military experience and techniques.
