Battalion Command Sgt. Maj. Thomas Geddings (left) holds the colors of the 2nd Engineer Battalion while Battalion Executive Officer Maj. Christian Thomas lights the flag on fire during a ceremony held on White Sands Missile Range Nov. 30. The Battalion holds its Burning of the Colors Ceremony every year to commemorate the Battle of Kunu-Ri, a battle during the Korean War where the Battalion was overrun and burned their colors rather than risk them being taken as a war trophy by Chinese forces.
