Curtis Rice, the commanding officer and sergeant major of Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force - Peru, engage with local Peruvians after a rehearsal of concept drill for a humanitarian assistance and disaster relief exercise at Chorrillos Beach near Lima, Peru, Nov. 23, 2018. SPMAGTF-Peru's goal is to demonstrate humanitarian assistance and disaster relief response by bringing together the capabilities of U.S. Marines and sailors aboard the Somerset and Peruvian naval forces as a multinational maritime task force. The integrated mission is part of U.S. Southern Command's Enduring Promise initiative and reflects the United States' enduring promise of friendship, partnership and solidarity with the Americas.
