A recruit with Alpha Company, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, conducts planks during a physical training session at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Nov. 21. Every station challenged recruits to put forth maximum effort to get the most out of each exercise. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Alpha Company is scheduled to graduate Feb. 1.
