Alexandra Bonnyman Prejean, daughter of Medal of Honor Recipient U.S. Marine Corps 1st Lt. Alexander Bonnyman, places an American Battle Monuments Commission (AMBC) rosette next to her father’s name during a rededication ceremony at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, Hawaii, Nov. 19, 2018. The rosette indicates a service member whose remains have been recovered and returned. Bonnyman’s remains were recovered in 2015. 1st Lt. Bonnyman fought and gave his life for his country during the Battle of Tarawa; for his bravery and actions during the battle, he was rewarded the Medal of Honor and Purple Heart.
