Nicole Hart, AFW2 Caregiver, EIT, and RAMP Section Lead, puts pen to paper as part of the Zentangle workshop at the NE Region Warrior CARE Event at Joint Base Andrews, MD. While it may look like doodling, it is actually a structured form of artistry that is more of a meditation than anything else. There are specific guidelines for how it is done with the overall goal of calming the mind, which in the case of many of our wounded warriors, may be the only chance they have to get their mind from racing. Resiliency programs are a mainstay of the AFW2 CARE events, offering wounded warriors access to different holistic healing approaches for their long-term success in recovery.
