Saipan, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, November 8, 2018 – U.S. Marines arrive on the island of Saipan to transport heavy equipment vehicles after Super Typhoon Yutu made landfall, damaging hundreds of homes and leaving many residents without shelter, food, or access to clean water. The Lighter Amphibious Resupply Cargo (LARC) vehicles will be used for a variety of missions, from debris cleanup to commodity distribution. Per FEMA’s request, the military has been deployed to Saipan along with other federal and voluntary agencies to provide assistance to disaster survivors in the community. Grace Simoneau/FEMA
