Swedish squad leader sergeant Niklas Sjögren is giving orders to Finnish soldiers. The 71.st battalion is a combined Swedish- Finnish battalion with soldiers and officers from both countries. The Swedish soldiers are professional soldiers with a long service record and the Finnish soldiers are conscripts.
Trident Juncture 2018 is NATO’s largest exercise in many years, bringing together around 50,000 personnel from all 29 Allies, plus partners Finland and Sweden. Around 65 vessels, 250 aircraft and 10,000 vehicles will participate.
