U.S. Air Force Tech. Sgt. David Perez, convoy commander, 70th Medium Truck Detachment and Santa Fe, N.M., native, walks through a sea of parked trucks after completing the first leg of a seven day convoy Oct. 22, 2011. Perez is responsible for leading a convoy of 43 vehicles and 60 passengers more than 1,100 miles through Iraq. During the trip, the convoy will travel to several bases before getting to their designated load point.
