U.S. and Turkish soldiers conduct the first-ever combined joint patrol on Nov. 1, 2018, outside Manbij, Syria. U.S. and Turkish military forces worked closely together for several weeks prior to the start of the combined joint patrols to ensure safety and security of personnel during the patrols. This interoperability ensures they can safely work together to help maintain the safety and security of the region and protect the civilians of Manbij in their common pursuit of the enduring defeat of Da'esh.
