SAN FRANCISCO (Oct. 5, 2018) The Blue Angels perform during the San Francisco Fleet Week Air Show, Oct. 5, 2018. The Blue Angels is the U.S. Navy’s flight demonstration squadron, with aviators from the Navy and Marine Corps. The team was formed in 1946, making it the second oldest formal flying aerobatic team in the world. U.S. Marine Maj. Jeff Mullins flies the number three F/A-18 Hornet aircraft and Capt. Beau Mabery flies the C-130T Hercules commonly know as Fat Albert, operated by U.S. Marines. Since 1981, San Francisco Fleet Week is a public event taking place every October, becoming a significant and integral part of the city's local culture and economy.
