Rear Adm. James Foggo, deputy commander, U.S. 6th Fleet, (right center) reviews navigation charts on the bridge aboard the San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock USS Mesa Verde (LPD 19). Foggo visited the ship to thank the crew for their work during Operation Unified Protector, the NATO led operation enforcing United Nations Security Council Resolutions 1970 and 1973 in order to protect Libyan civilians. Mesa Verde is a part of the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group, which relieved the Kearsarge Amphibious Ready Group on April 27, in support of Operation Odyssey Dawn, later becoming Operation Unified Protector. Mesa Verde deployed from her homeport of Norfolk, Va., March 23, and is currently conducting operations in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of responsibility. (Photo by: Petty Officer 2nd Class Josue L.
