Marines with Battery E, 2nd Battalion, 12th Marine Regiment, search an abandoned compound in an area referred to as Sharp’s Alley inside the Kajaki district. The Marines were looking for weapons caches insurgents had been using to fight against the Marines. The insurgents store weapons in abandoned Kajaki citizens’ homes, as most residents have been forced out of the area.
