180919-N-UP035-0189 CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. (Sep. 19, 2018) Lance Cpl. Jacob Deegan, a crew chief assigned to the "Black Knights" of Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron (VMM) 264 (Reinforced) embarked aboard the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge (LHD 3), observes out the window of a CH-53E Super Stallion on a flight to transport supplies from Portsmouth, Va. to Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, N.C. U.S. Naval Forces Northern Command deployed Kearsarge, along with embarked elements of the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit and the Expeditionary Strike Group 2 command element, to be positioned to provide Defense Support to Civil Authorities from the sea in response to Hurricane Florence, should support be requested.
