Kate Conkey, the commander of Camp Buehring's Brigade Special Troops Battalion, delivers a speech to Soldiers before a 5K run at Camp Buehring, Kuwait, Sept. 11, 2018, to highlight the sacrifices of first responders on 9/11. Today, as in 2001, Soldiers assigned with USARCENT stand ready to answer the nation's call. 9/11 memorial events like this remind Soldiers why they are deployed and give them the opportunity to honor and remember those who lost their lives in the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks and in the operations since.
