A U.S. Air Force C-17 Globemaster III is escorted by two U.S. Air Force F-16 Fighting Falcons as it crosses into the Republic of Korea carrying 55 cases of remains of fallen service members from the Korean War on July 27, 2018. U.S. officials recovered the remains from Wonson, Democratic People's Republic of Korea, and brought them to Osan Air Base, Republic of Korea. Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency experts conducted an initial review of the remains before transferring them to their forensic laboratory at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii on Aug. 1, 2018. The F-16s are assigned to the 36th Fighter Squadron from Osan, and the C-17 is assigned to the 535th Airlift Squadron from JBPHH. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Rachel Maxwell)
