The Silent Drill Platoon performs for attendees at a community leaders reception at the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art during the United States Marine Corps’ 2018 Marine Week in Charlotte, North Carolina, Sept. 4, 2018. Marine Week is a celebration of community, country and Corps, which provided the American public the experience of directly connecting with approximately 750 Marines. The Silent Drill Platoon is stationed at Marine Barracks Washington in the District of Columbia. Marine Week Charlotte is the premier community engagement event that each year allows the Marine Corps to connect with citizens of great American cities, generating awareness and maintaining mutual understanding and support between the Corps and those it serves.
