Retired Marine Gen. James Amos speaks with Maj. Gen. James Bierman and Col. William Gray at a community leaders reception at the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art during the United States Marine Corps’ 2018 Marine Week in Charlotte, North Carolina, Sept. 4, 2018. Marine Week is a celebration of community, country and Corps, which provided the American public the experience of directly connecting with approximately 750 Marines. Amos was the 35th Commandant of the Marine Corps; Bierman is the commanding general of the Marine Corps Recruiting Command, and Gray is the commanding officer of the 6th Marine Corps District.
