Engineers with Company A, 508th Brigade Special Troops Battalion, pull security on a street corner as a vehicle moves forward to recover simulated causalities in the National Training Center at Fort Irwin, Calif., on Sept. 14. While conducting a night training lane on route clearance, the Paratroopers endured small arms fire, indirect fire and improvised explosive devices as they pushed through the simulated town to clear it of IEDs for the safety of coalition forces and civilians in the exercise.
