Staff Sgt. Rico Selbo conducted the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing Band shortly after re-enlisting in the Marine Corps overlooking the World Trade Center site here, Sept. 7. On Sept. 11, 2001, the San Antonio-native was 17 years old and reciting his oath of enlistment at a Military Entrance Processing Station in Texas when the twin towers were attacked. Ten years later, the Iraq War veteran Marine clarinetist asked to extend his service in the Marine Corps near Ground Zero. Selbo is a member of the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing Band stationed at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, N.C. The band is in New York to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
