The dark blue flag belongs to the 506th Infantry Regiment and bears multiple battle streamers including ones labeled 'Normandy' and 'Bastogne', indicating WWII campaign honors. The “Currahee Brothers” bring a replica guidon from 3rd Battalion, 506th Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division, during their annual visit to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Feb. 19, 2018, in Washington, D.C. Veterans of the battalion visit the memorial each year in remembrance of 8 soldiers lost in an ambush on Feb. 19, 1968. This year marks the 50th anniversary of that battle.
