Edgar “Jay” Eckhart, a former specialist and infantryman with 3rd Battalion, 506th Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division, tells stories from 50 years ago as his group meets to honor fallen brothers from the Vietnam War, Feb. 17, 2018, at Fort Meade, Md. The “Currahee Brothers” visit the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., annually in remembrance of 8 soldiers lost in an ambush on Feb. 19, 1968. This year marks the 50th anniversary of that battle.
