Crane Operator Paul Doyle helps Electronic Mechanics Curtis Strubert and Morris Hunsinger disassemble the AN/MPS-T1 Band Simulator System, I Band Pedestal antennas after system operational testing is complete. Doyle is assigned to the Production Management Directorate’s Material Management Division, while Strubert and Hunsinger work in the C4ISR Directorate’s ATCALS/Range Threat Systems Division. Tobyhanna Army Depot has been performing programmed depot maintenance on the band simulator system for more than 15 years. It takes 12 employees nearly two years to repair the critical Air Force system. The band simulator system is managed by the System Program Office, Hill Air Force Base, Utah. The primary purpose of the radar set is to provide a realistic surface-to-air missile control radar environment, which can be used to train, test, and evaluate aircrew performance.
