SAN DIEGO (May 21, 2018) Fire Controlman 2nd Class Travis Stevens (left) and Fire Controlman 1st Class Joseph Moses (right), upload a Rolling Airframe Missile (RAM) aboard the amphibious transport dock ship USS Portland (LPD 27). Portland is currently underway in the SOCAL OPAREA. USS Portland is the 11th San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ship in its class. It is the third ship to bear the name USS Portland; however, it is the first ship to be named solely for Oregon's largest city.
