U.S. Army Sgt. 1st Class Nathan Austin, secures the remains of his lost cousin, U.S. Army Air Forces 2nd Lt. Clarence E. Allen, for transport during a chain of custody event at the Senator Daniel K. Inouye Center of Excellence on Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii, May 18, 2018. Austin visited the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) as part of his duties as the Special U.S. Army Escort for his cousin’s remains en route to the final resting place for Allen in Arlington National Cemetery. Allen, a P-47 aircraft pilot with the 395th Fighter Squadron, was declared missing in action after engaging enemy aircraft during a dive-bombing mission near Aachen, Germany in October 1944.
