A Marine Corps Instructor of Water Survival, drill instructor, Support Battalion, helps recruits of Golf Company, 2nd Recruit Training Battalion, stay afloat during the Water Survival Basic Qualification course at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, April 15. Fear and lack of confidence caused some to become stressed and panicked, which made them forget the techniques they were taught. The instructors supervised the recruits through the entire qualification. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Golf Company is scheduled to graduate July 13.
