Recruits of Golf Company, 2nd Recruit Training Battalion, perform a 10-second gear strip while submerged during the Water Survival Basic Qualification course at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, April 15. This portion helps train recruits to strip heavy gear that may inhibit their ability to float while in deep water. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Golf Company is scheduled to graduate July 13.
