Michael Pequette, a military police officer in the Arizona National Guard 850th Military Police Battalion, fires a Beretta M9 pistol as part of the Region 7 Best Warrior Competition May 10, 2018, at the National Rifle Association Whittington Center in Raton, N.M. During their day at the ranges, competitors fired several weapon systems at a variety of targets, participated in the “Chili Pepper Shoot”, endured an 11.2 mi ruck march through rolling hills and completed numerous essential warrior tasks.
