    FIRE BASE SAENZ, Helmand province, Afghanistan - The Marines and sailor on Gun-3, Alpha Battery perform what is known as a speed shift, changing the direction of the howitzer. The battery, which belongs to 1st Battalion, 12th Marine Regiment, must make speed shifts in less than three minutes from the time they receive a call for fire.
