    FIRE BASE SAENZ, Helmand province, Afghanistan - Cpl. Stephen Palmiter, a Harrison, Idaho, native, takes a moment to eat his dinner in the ammunition pit of Gun-1, Alpha Battery. Palmiter is a field radio operator and a provisional cannon crewman with 1st Battalion, 12th Marine Regiment. The Marines who work on the gun line can sit for hours waiting while on a mission, often having to eat their meals in any spare moment they might have.
