PACIFIC OCEAN (May 7, 2018) Aviation Structural Mechanic (Safety Equipment) 3rd Class Marlin Smith, a Sailor assigned to the "Black of Aces" of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 41, from Madison, Georgia, performs a pre-operational inspection on an F/a-18F Super Hornet in the hangar bay aboard the aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74). John C. Stennis is underway with the ships and squadrons of Carrier Strike Group (CSG) 3 conducting group sail training in preparation for its next scheduled deployment.
