SAN CLEMENTE ISLAND (May 4, 2018) Lt. Gene Pontes, from San Diego, assigned to Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 9, uses a combat survival evader locator (CSEL) radio as an MH-60S Seahawk, assigned to the "Chargers" of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (14) lands during a combat search and rescue training held on San Clemente Island. John C. Stennis is underway with the ships and squadrons of Carrier Strike Group (CSG) 3 conducting group sail training in preparation for its next scheduled deployment.
