The bay at Freshwater Bay, Queensland, Australia, and the site of the Marine amphibious assault during Talisman Sabre 2011, July 17. The Environmental Protection Biodiversity Act protects ecosystems like the Shoalwater Bay’s during military exercises through the employment of an environmental team that monitors military training activities and provides guidance to commanders on how to reduce training impact on wildlife and the terrain. TS11 is a biennial joint international training exercise aimed at improving and validating the Australian defense force and United States combat readiness and interoperability as a combined joint task force.
