A U.S. Army soldier in camouflage uniform is kneeling and signing a proclamation board related to 'Child Abuse Prevention Month' at what appears to be an official military ceremony. Several other individuals, including uniformed military personnel and a civilian, stand in the background observing the signing. Multiple display boards with official proclamation text are arranged on a table for the event.

Garrison Commander Col. David J. Pinter Sr. signs a proclamation during the April Awareness Kickoff Event on April 11, 2018, at Fort McCoy, Wis. He signed proclamations with other Fort McCoy leaders. This was a special event to observe April as Child Abuse Prevention Month, Autism Awareness Month, Alcohol Awareness Month, and Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month. It included morning and afternoon sessions with two guest speakers. One of the speakers was a survivor who, under request to remain anonymous, discussed her life experiences that covered all aspects of each monthly observance. She explained how she survived child abuse and sexual assault, dealt with autism, and overcame “self-medicating” herself by abusing alcohol. (U.S. Army Photo by Scott T.
