Recruits with Golf Company, 2nd Recruit Training Battalion, make their phone call home, reading what is printed on the script in front of them, during receiving at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, April 16. The next time recruits will be able to contact their loved ones will be by postal mail. Their initial letter home should be expected within two to three weeks upon arrival. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Golf Company is scheduled to graduate July 13.
