Sgt. Leland Vaughn, a 23-year-old Tucson, Ariz., native and section leader with Kilo Company, 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment talks to Jim McCartney, a Dana Point 5th Marine Regiment Support Group member, about the M203 grenade launcher during an adventure day hosted by 5th Marines at the Camp San Mateo parade deck, July 7. Approximately 50 civilians, both members and non-members of the support group, experienced a typical day in the life of a Marine. They learned about the various weapons systems, training simulators and tools the regiment’s warriors use on a daily basis.
