35th Fighter Wing

U.S. service members participated in an emergency management exercise at
Misawa Air Base, Japan, March 23, 2018. The training prepared the
installation and its residents for potential natural disasters such as the
Great Japan Earthquake in 2011 which displaced hundreds of thousands of
people due to power outages and flooding. The 35th Fighter Wing inspector
general office organizes and conducts periodic exercises like these to
inform Misawa AB residents of their responsibilities during an earthquake
