Professor Hannah Marsh, historian and history professor for the University of Maryland University College, gave a special tribute to Lt. Col. Charity Earley, the first African-American woman to be an officer in the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps and was the commanding officer of the first battalion of African-American women to serve overseas during World War II. The tribute was given at the Women’s History Month observance March 16, 2018 at the Rose Barracks Theater, Germany.
