The Alaska team's Staff Sgt. Durell Davis adds spices over a steaming pot during the Armed Forces Chef of the Year category of the Joint Culinary Training Exercise March 9. The JCTE is a skills competition -- in its 43rd year -- that attracts more than 200 U.S. military culinarians from installations around the world. AFCOY contestants were required to complete in four hours a four-course meal subject to judging by American Culinary Federation judges.
