A field artilleryman with the 3rd Battalion, 319th Airborne Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, plots grid coordinates during the Joint Operations Access Exercise at Sicily Drop Zone on Fort Bragg, N.C., June 26. The paratroopers of the 3-319th conducted crew drills and fired rounds throughout the JOAX even during the severe thunderstorms which rolled through just before midnight of June 26. “We are capable of doing our job in any environment,” Pierce, the commander of the 3-319th, 1st BCT, 82nd ABN Div. said. “We had to take extra measures when the storm rolled through to ensure we accomplished our mission.”
