The Commander of the 3rd Battalion, 319th Airborne Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, Lt. Col. David Pierce plots his battalions cannon arrangements during a Joint Operations Access Exercise, at Sicily Drop Zone on Fort Bragg, N.C., June 26. Pierce, a native of Temple Hills, Md., and his men braved severe thunderstorms as they provided field artillery support during the JOAX. “We are capable of doing our job in any environment,” Pierce said. “We had to take extra measures when the storm rolled through to ensure we accomplished our mission.”
