Gen. Darren W. McDew, commander of US Transportation Command, presents an award certificate to Col Wade Johnston, element commander Joint Communication Support Element Joint Deployable Airborne Package Team (JDAP) at the 4th quarter 2017 Innovation Showcase Award Presentation, Scott Air Force Base, Ill. Feb. 23, 2018. The JDAP team earned an honorable mention award for efforts in closing the capabilities gap between existing systems and future evolving mission requirements. The JDAP is planned to provide robust inter-networking capability including routing, switching, distribution of critical data networks, and radio networks to the airborne battle staff, mission planners and tactical commanders, increasing data and voice services 700% on the C-130 and 1500% on a satellite equipped C-17.
