EVERETT, Wash. (March 14, 2018) -- Navy Diver 2nd Class Matthew Sanders, from Louisville, Kentucky, assigned to Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility's Everett dive locker, lets a group of 1st grade students from Immaculate Conception and Our Lady Of Perpetual Help School try on a dive-helmet after during a Science, Technology, Engineering and Math - Art + Design (STEAM) presentation about how science and math are factored into the process of diving. STEAM is a program that teaches children the importance of science, technology, engineering, math, art and design in the everday world, and opens their eyes to possible career fields in these areas.
